At every VFP convention the local organizing chapter puts together a program booklet supported by ads from businesses and chapters and various well-wishers. Since this year’s theme is “education not militarism,” we in the Full Disclosure movement thought that we would put in a half-page ad inviting members to attend our workshop. We are concerned about how the efforts of the powers-to-be to revise the history of the American War in Viet Nam are going to be even more cranked up with the September showing of the Ken Burns documentary. We thought we’d discuss strategies to supplement the documentary– aimed at high school and college audiences — at our local schools. Leslie Dwyer kicked in with her impressive graphical skills. Excellent! As a ‘Nam vet (USN, Yankee Station, 1969-1970), I look forward to seeing this workshop at the VFP Convention in Chicago. I would withhold judgment on the Ken Burns series, which I have not seen, nor seen any advance reviews.
