Forum on Expanding Medicare
January 19 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm ESTFree
As the U.S. grapples with myriad problems in its private healthcare industry, many arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, the debate over Medicare for All has never been more relevant.
VHPI will host a forum to discuss the efforts to expand Medicare, so it covers all Americans, including veterans and their families. We’ll examine how current Medicare for All legislation would impact the VA healthcare system and help veterans currently excluded from it. We’ll report on and analyze the parallel privatization threats to both the VA and the existing Medicare program for seniors. Panelists will assess Biden Administration progress—or lack of it—in reversing Republican policies that continue to undermine both veterans healthcare and traditional Medicare.
The forum will last one hour and take place on January 19th at 3 p.m. EST/Noon PST.
