Mark your calendars for August 12, 2021
from Mr. Nguyen Hieu Trung
August 2021 will mark the 20th anniversary of the founding and the launch of Project RENEW – a collaboration among the government of Quang Tri Province and international non-governmental organizations to address the problem of explosive ordnance in Quang Tri and central Vietnam.
As authorized by the Quang Tri Province People’s Committee, the Project Steering Board and Project RENEW Coordination Office are planning to commemorate this important milestone on 12 August 2021 in Dong Ha, Quang Tri Province. We would be honored if you could join us for this occasion. A formal invitation with a detailed agenda will be sent to you in the coming months, meanwhile we kindly ask you to save the date on your calendar.
Of course we will keep you posted on any updates or adjustments that may be necessary in view of the Covid situation.
We hope to make this a very special event. Your attendance will make it a much more significant occasion for all our RENEW staff and our friends in Quang Tri. It is our hope that you will be able to arrange your time to join us for this important commemoration. We look forward to welcoming you to Quang Tri, Vietnam in August.
On behalf of the Project Steering Board,
Sincerely,
Nguyen Hieu Trung
Project RENEW Coordination Manager
This invitation below has been sent to friends and colleagues who have been associated with Project RENEW over the years, so some on this list have received it already, and it is still being circulated to others. The invitation is from Nguyen Hieu Trung, Coordination Manager of RENEW, to join our 20th anniversary commemoration in August to celebrate the founding of Project RENEW in August, 2001. As you can see from Trung’s letter, the event planned as a large gathering in Quang Tri Province may not happen, due to uncertainties about Covid, but we are going ahead with arrangements in any case. We may have to switch to a Zoom meeting format near the event date, so we will keep you informed. Meanwhile, please mark your calendars for the date of August 12, 2021.
